Key Responsibilities:

Legal Compliance:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to data privacy, security, and intellectual property, and ensure that our BI and AI solutions comply with applicable legal requirements.
  2. Data Privacy: Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with data protection laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, as well as industry-specific regulations.
  3. Data Security: Collaborate with internal teams to assess data security risks and vulnerabilities, and implement safeguards and measures to mitigate risks and protect data integrity and confidentiality.
  4. Intellectual Property: Identify and protect intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and advise on intellectual property rights and licensing agreements related to BI and AI technologies.
  5. Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and terms of service with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring that legal and compliance requirements are addressed and mitigated.

Ethical and Responsible AI:

  1. Ethical Guidelines: Develop and promote ethical guidelines and principles for the responsible use of AI and machine learning technologies, addressing issues such as bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability.
  2. Algorithmic Transparency: Work with data scientists and engineers to ensure transparency and explainability in AI algorithms and models, enabling stakeholders to understand and trust AI-driven decision-making processes.
  3. Data Governance: Establish data governance frameworks and processes to ensure ethical data collection, usage, and sharing practices, and promote data stewardship and accountability throughout the organization.
  4. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses to identify potential legal and ethical risks associated with BI and AI initiatives, and develop strategies and controls to mitigate risks and uphold ethical standards.

Compliance Training and Education:

  1. Training Programs: Develop and deliver compliance training programs and materials to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements, ethical guidelines, and best practices related to BI and AI technologies.
  2. Awareness Campaigns: Raise awareness and promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organization through awareness campaigns, communications, and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with a focus on technology law, privacy law, or intellectual property law.
  • Admission to the bar in relevant jurisdictions and active membership in good standing.
